Meat Design Ostrava is a festival full of inspiration, ideas, applied art, architecture and especially original product and interior design. We are preparing for you the 8th edition in full scale, as you were used to it before 2020.

What is Meat Design?
It’s an event packed with opportunities!
- We connect young authors and designers with manufacturers and brands.
- We make a sales show of original works by artists and designers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland.
- We organize screenings of film documentaries about design and architecture.
- We are a venue for lectures, practical seminars and social events.
What will Meat Design 2023 be like?
This year’s theme is Moderation
After the last three years of exceptional and difficult situations, we want to put the emphasis on what is really important. Moderation means getting back to the heart of things, finding balance and equilibrium in the world around us. At this year’s Meat Design Ostrava, we want to focus on design as a means to help us discover depth and bring a new perspective on life. This theme will run through the accompanying programme and is also an inspiration for you across the exhibitions and the entire programme.

DESIGN
The exhibitors will once again include a great variety of designs, companies, and brands in the field of interior design. We will present both the latest creations of the regional authors and the cutting-edge pieces of furniture, interior design, as well as new technologies of interior treatment, which make our lives more comfortable and enjoyable. We will introduce creators designing fashion and jewelry, toys and accessories for children, and some very current topics – urbanlive, green design, sustainable fashion, accessories, and furniture, as well as anything you need for eco-lifestyle.
Lectures
A rich lecture programme is an essential part of the festival. At Meat Design Ostrava you have the opportunity to meet icons of Czech design, talk to creatives and designers.
WORKSHOPS
Workshops are a popular part of the accompanying programme. You can experience first-hand what it is like to be a designer of your own home, make your own light fixture, refurbish your old chair, work with textiles, wood or paper, learn practical and concrete procedures from various disciplines and thus get to know design from all angles.
Den profesionálů
A meeting day before the start of the public exhibition intended for the invited and approached companies. We expect roughly 100–150 guests. An all-day program will be focused on networking and connecting companies, designers, architects and developers. We wish to concentrate on the necessity of design during the manufacturing process and its efficient implementation in companies.
