Meat Design Ostrava is a festival bustling with inspiration, ideas, applied art, architecture and, above all, original product and interior design. Four days (November 20–22, 2020) of exclusive design, inspiration, talent and meetings with designers in the industrial heart of Ostrava – the premises of the former Hlubina mine and GONG auditorium in Dolní oblast Vítkovice. The program also includes lectures, workshops, screenings, family entertainment, animation and party with the creators.
The exhibitors will once again include a great variety of designs, companies, and brands in the field of interior design. We will present both the latest creations of the regional authors and the cutting-edge pieces of furniture, interior design, as well as new technologies of interior treatment, which make our lives more comfortable and enjoyable. We will introduce creators designing fashion and jewelry, toys and accessories for children, and some very current topics – urbanlive, green design, sustainable fashion, accessories, and furniture, as well as anything you need for eco-lifestyle. This year will also include Menzone and “men’s design.”
You can look forward to the Art & Design stage, where the lectures will give you the opportunity to meet the prominent personalities of Czech design and talk to the creators, artists, and Japanese designers, who will visit the Czech Republic for the first time. You can get some practical advice on interior design in the Green & Home section: sustainability and environmentally friendly approach are the Alpha and Omega of the new lifestyle! We will be updating our program in September 2020 onwards.
Workshops are favorite part of the programme for many people. You will be invited to try to be in the designer’s shoes for a while and design your own interiors, create original light decoration or restore your old piece of chair and give it a new coat. Furthermore, you can learn some practical skills across different fields in design by working and using different materials as wood, paper or textile during practical workshops. Details about the topics and a schedule of workshops for the 2020 will be presented from October.
A meeting day before the start of the public exhibition intended for the invited and approached companies. We expect roughly 100–150 guests. An all-day program will be focused on networking and connecting companies, designers, architects and developers. We wish to concentrate on the necessity of design during the manufacturing process and its efficient implementation in companies.
We look forward to you
